Under the Mobility PW programme, Konrad Kwatek, DSc, from the Faculty of Physics at WUT, visited the Materials Science Institute of Madrid to conduct research. His research findings may lead to the application of a new solid electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries in the future.

Scientists from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology at WUT are devising a new measurement method which facilitates obtaining highly sensitive, selective and, at the same time, universal sensor, and biosensor solutions. Research is conducted as part of the FOTECH-1 research grant.

The interdisciplinary, inter-faculty and inter-university laboratory has been started within a teacher grant and as part of Technologies of Conversion and Accumulation of Energy, which is a newly created specialisation at WUT.

Until 21st June technology teams with an idea for a product or service can apply to the Preincubation programme.

At the Faculty of Mechatronics at the WUT, a Pneumonitor was created, which allows to monitor the frequency and depth of breathing and also to associate these with the variability of the heart rhythm or the physical activity of the examined person. This is the first such "mobile" solution designed for long-term observation.

WUT announces the internal grant competition funded by the project ,,Excellence Initiative – Research University”, for the employees of the Warsaw University Technology supporting an application submitted in the European Research Council (ERC) competition.

Glioblastoma multiforme is one of the most invasive forms of primary brain cancers, and the average lifespan of the patient from the moment of diagnosis is about 12 months. A team of researchers from the Warsaw University of Technology, Polish Academy of Sciences, and Warsaw University is working on solutions which are to increase the effectiveness of chemotherapy and improve the comfort of living of a cancer patient.

A group of collaborating researchers from the Warsaw University of Technology and Warsaw Medical University is working on devising a platform intensifying biotechnological processes in plant biomass grown in in vitro cultures, as part of the research grant BIOTECHMED-2.

The call for applications for the programme addressed the citizens of Ukraine who had to leave the territory of their country due to the war and the Polish citizens who were employed in research units in Ukraine or the Russian Federation and had to return to Poland is open.

Researchers from the Faculty of Mechatronics at WUT have devised methods of resilient reasoning for advisory systems designated mainly for large-scale industrial processes.

A research team from the Warsaw University of Technology is devising a method of modeling the detonation cell size in a biogas-oxygen mixture utilizing machine learning. The results of their work are novel in the field of research on detonation. 

In the competition, 10 projects will receive fundings.

Scientists at WUT are working on improving the service of intrabuilding localising. The solution is increasingly utilised in the care for people suffering from dementia or navigation of automatic robots, among other things. 

In times of extreme weather phenomena such as drought, research directed at the rational management of freshwater resources has become crucial. Provided that it is safe for the environment and people, a solution to the problem of diminishing water resources might be the disinfection of purified wastewater. WUT researchers are checking if safety can be guaranteed.

The closing date for applications is 29 April 2022.

Specialists from the Faculty of Chemistry at WUT and the Centre for Advanced Materials and Technologies (CEZAMAT) are researching probiotic yeast to see if it can be reprogrammed so that its extracellular vesicles can become an enteral drug carrier.

New organizational units were formally established on March 17th, 2022.

Optical measuring methods are widely used in research on technical objects on a macro-scale or to observe the biological microworld world, among other things. Techniques generating a band image are an especially interesting group. As part of the Photonic Technologies grant, WUT scientists have undertaken to “purify” this image to observe and research the microworld around us even more precisely. 

In the POSTDOC II competition, 11 projects will receive fundings.

In the Visiting Researcher competition, 1 project will receive funding.

There are plenty of scientists willing to carry out cardiology-related research at the Warsaw University of Technology. The results may save patients’ lives.
