Almost 50 student projects funded by IDUB
As part of the four editions of the competition for Rector’s grants for student research groups, 49 projects were financed from the IDUB programme funds.
Students from the Płock branch of the Warsaw University of Technology undertook a study of the properties of recycled concrete composed of sanitary ceramic cullet.
Meanwhile, members of the Herbion Biotechnology Student Research Group were working on developing a technological solution to devise a process for purifying, and in fact recovering, rare earth metals from photovoltaics. Students used bacteria in their project.
Young researchers associated with the Płock Chemistry Student Research Group from the field of Chemical Technology at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Mechanics and Petrochemistry (the Warsaw University of Technology Płock Branch) were looking for microplastic in various types of tea bags, and groats and rice in plastic bags.
Members of the Virtual Reality Student Research Group at the Faculty of Mathematics and Data Science at the Warsaw University of Technology were working on software incorporating virtual reality goggles with eye-tracking for therapy for people with special educational needs. The target audience of their project is therapists working with children on the autism spectrum and with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and attention deficit disorder.
Members of WUT Racing Student Research Group are still working, intending to optimise the composite structure multi-link suspension in a Student Formula car.
All of these projects have been or are being implemented with funds from the Excellence Initiative - Research University programme.
